Firstly I must apologise to anyone who visited the site over the
Christmas period. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my
control hackers got into the company who host my site and were able
to alter all of my pages and the content into something quite
unpleasant. It took some time to correct the problem but, hopefully
the incident will not happen again.
If you click on the image below you will be taken to a large gallery
of photographs depicting island scenes that were taken between the
3rd and 10th January 2010. Some of the photographs would not have
been added to the gallery if it was not for the fact that snow
features in all of the images. The images have been placed
into the 'events' gallery because I can tell you that (if you are
not familiar with the Island climate) snowfall is an event,
especially when snow is lying on Douglas beach the day after it
fell. Snow lying on Douglas Promenade four days after it fell is a
once in a generation phenomenon.

You will find that I've recently added a number of web galleries
that feature local cycle racing. This may seem a bit odd on a site
that primarily features landscape photography but, there are a
number of reasons for this. My son is a keen juvenile racing cyclist
and it is much easier for me to create web pages, in events where he
is competing, and upload them to my site than it is to size a large
amount of images and send them via CD to other web masters. I hope
you understand this and I am sure that the addition of
these galleries will not detract from the original theme of this
website. It has also been my intention to develop the events
gallery. So much of what takes place on the island makes the Island
the special place where we Manx people live. I have started this
gallery by adding some images of Valentino Rossi who rode in the
'Lap of the Gods' with Giacomo Agostini during TT 2009 in
early June. He certainly brought a buzz to the event and I hope that
this is conveyed in the images that I have now added to the events
gallery.

I am now sorting out the last of my 2008 images and uploading them
to the site. Some will be placed in the 2008 gallery and a few
others (steam trains) will go into the Transport Gallery. Sorting
them out always takes longer than you think so I thank everyone for
your patience

At long last I have begun to update the web pages. I have been
taking photographs during the year and I am sorting these out to add
to the website they will be added in the next few days. Please click
on the images below to see the first of the images

The weather has started to brighten and the days become longer
allowing a few extra opportunities to take some new photographs. I
have added new photographs in the 2008 gallery. I have also taken
some straight forward photographs showing the changes at Governors
Bridge and Upper Pulrose before the house are demolished. I will add
these to the Manx Life page in the next few days

Some stormy seas battered the island last weekend and I managed to
photograph the north end of Douglas Promenade during high tide on
Sunday. I've put one of the images in the 2008 gallery. I shall add
others over the next few days

I have now begun to put a series of photographs into the
2007 gallery,
a process that will fully take a few weeks. To do this I will have
to sort and size suitable photographs ~ a laborious process .

After months of work i am now relaunching my re-designed web site.
The galleries have been redesigned and structured and it will,
hopefully, be easier to navigate and find new images. I have
redesigned the format of the site to work on a variety of screen
sizes. I will be adding many photographs that I have taken during
2007 to the website over the next few weeks. I also hope to add
photographs that relate to local events in the future. This was
something that was very difficult with the layout of the previous
web site. Thank you for visiting my site and please re-visit in the
near future. I would welcome any e-mail feedback on your views about
this re-design.
